Michael Adekunle Owolabi
Michael is a qualified Barrister and
Solicitor of the Supreme Court of
Nigeria. He spent the first 10 years of his
career in Investment Banking, Treasury
and Strategy before pursuing a career
in Interior Design in 2004.
Between 2000-2003, Michael gained
substantial and valuable experience
working in advisory roles at both
Federal and State Governments levels
in the areas of budgeting and strategy.
Since 2004, he has grown the Black
Pelican Group with 5 subsidiaries into a reference name in interior design. IL Bagno, specializing in the sales and distribution of high end interior finishes exclusively represents the leading manufacturing companies in Europe for the Nigerian market, BPL Wellness the sole distributor for Technogym in 7 African countries specializing in Wellness products, the Bathrooms Direct has the business goal to offer
quality yet aordable ceramic items that are manufactured from the finest international companies to capture the project end of the market, whilst Bagno Technik, with its multinational
team of trained engineers and installers specializes in installation solutions, BPL Logistix with a focus on the logistics of moving goods around the world as well as warehousing services with locations in Lagos and Abuja.
Michael is married to Adetola Oloruntoyin Okeyemi and they have 3 children.
Adetola Owolabi holds a B.Sc in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and an MBA from the University of Liverpool. She spent the first 15 years of hercareer in Relationship Management
at Guaranty Trust Bank PLC where she specialized in the structuring of complex commercial credit transactions and international trade finance. She was Group Head of the Commercial
Banking Group responsible for commercial banking clients in the Lagos area. Her last position was Assistant General Manager and Group Head of the
Bank’s Maritime Group charged with developing the maritime sector as a core business focus of the bank.
Adetola has attended several management courses at Harvard
Business School, Columbia University Graduate School of Business, IMD, INSEAD and The Leonard Stern Business School of New York University. She is currently the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer
Sikiru is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered of Accountants of Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Ilorin and a Master of Risk Management from the University of Lagos.
Sikiru is an accomplished professional with experience in Financial Reporting, Capital Raising, Oil Trading, Basel II Implementation, Enterprise Risk Management, and Strategic Financial Management.
He worked previously as the Financial Controller at Imperial Home Mortgage Bank and the Head, Finance & Accounts at Zone 4 Energy Limited. He joined Black Pelican Limited in April 2019 and is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the company.
Princess holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Madonna University and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Marketing from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso. She has attended an executive training; ‘Managing People For Strategic Advantage’ in Lagos Business School.
She is an associate member of National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN). Princess handles marketing strategy targeted at HNIs, Architects and Consultants and has expertise in handling bathrooms and interior solutions for the hospitality industry.
In her quest to achieve perfection in business management, customer services, Sales and project delivery, she has attended various local and foreign training, seminars and exhibitions in Nigeria, South Africa, Turkey, Dubai, Switzerland, Italy and Germany.
She joined Black Pelican in 2008 and she is currently the Regional Manager.
Amusa heads the operations of the organisation. He obtained Higher National Diploma from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, First Degree in Accounting from University of Lagos and holds MBA (Finance) from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a Member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered).
He has broad experience in business management, risk analysis, process re-engineering and controls, specializing in audit and assurance services, financial consulting and tax advisory. He joined Black Pelican Limited in 2010.
Nora Igonoh is a seasoned Human Resource Professional with over 13 years HR Generalist experience that has afforded her the opportunity to make valuable contributes across the HR value chain of a number of organizations. Her expertise includes finding and attracting top talent, identifying and defining role critical competencies, employee performance management and optimization, employee experience engineering amongst others.
In the course of her career, Nora has worked in different industries including Financial Services, Telecommunications, Consulting and Nonproft. She is passionate about working through people and processes to achieve sustainable optimal organizational performance. For more than half a decade, she has partnered strategically with business executives to design and deploy talent optimizing processes and practices that have led them to achieve subsequent outstanding and verifiable results.
Nora is a graduate of Economics from Covenant University and holds a Masters in Managerial Psychology from the University of Lagos. She is a member of the International Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), holding a Senior Professional certificate in Human Resources (SPHRi).
She is currently the Head, Human Resources Dept of the company.
Mayowa, is a certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a certified member of Project management Professionals. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking & Finance from Kogi State University, Anyigba.
Mayowa, has excellent experience in Policy development, Business Process re-engineering, Enterprise risk analysis and Management, Controls and Audit.
He previously worked with Igueben Local Government Council, Edo state in Finance & Treasury Department and as an Internal Control & Risk Officer at Eta-zuma Group West Africa Limited with five subsidiaries that specializes in Mineral Exploration, Mining and Processing.
Being the resident Control officer for Zuma 828 Coal, He led the team that conducted a complete reconciliation of $26.2 Million worth of assets and liabilities for the publication of the Company financials in 2017.
He joined Black Pelican Limited in June 2018 and he is currently the Head, Internal Control & Reconciliation Dept of the company.
